Deep State of Rapture is a two-person exhibition by Mat Collishaw and Mustafa Hulusi that explores the unfulfilling desire for visual stimulation and imagery addiction. The artists employ birds and grapes, which have been a common environmental subject since the ancient West, in their works by using trompe-l'oeil. The works look like a realistic representation of natural subjects, yet the context, meaning, and metaphors within the subjects are paradoxically rearranged and reconstructed to scrutinize contemporaneity.
