Chang Hong Ahn: At the Garden

The solo exhibition by Chang Hong Ahn brings over 20 new works on flowers in the garden from the artist's studio. The flower that blooms and perishes, interpreted in its original image, questions the values of human life. The garden by Ahn is the world we live in, and the cockscombs are the image of us going on in that world. The worldly affairs within the inner workings of humankind, a journey of life, time, and the perishing progress of the living, are blended in the works, representing all existence that passes away before eternal time.

신작 20여 점으로 이루어진 안창홍(b. 1953)의 개인전 «안창홍의 뜰»은 작가의 삶과 함께한 작업실 뜰 안의 꽃들이 작가의 메시지를 대변한다. 피고 지는 꽃들의 모습이 안창홍의 독창적인 표현방식으로 어우러져 우리 삶의 가치에 대해 되묻는다. 안창홍이 펼쳐낸 뜰의 모습은 곧 우리가 사는 세상이고, 맨드라미는 그 세상을 살아가는 우리네의 모습이 담겨있다. 인간 내면에 맺혀있는 세상사, 인생의 여정, 시간 그리고 생성의 소멸과정이 녹아 들어있다. 그리고 시간의 영원함 속에서 사라지는 모든 실존적인 것들을 나타낸다.
