Kuk Il Yu: The Original Sound as It Is

Kuk Il Yu: The Original Sound as It Is is a solo exhibition by Yu Kuk Il, the sound maestro acclaimed by the masters from Acuton and Mundorf Germany. Yu designed metal speakers by combining music and metal molding to make an ideal sound. The artist holds eight patents for speaker technology, 32 patents for design, and one international patent for sensitive and accurate sound quality. Vibration is inversely proportional to weight; the heavier the structure, the lesser its distortion. Generally, metal is a complex material to process and control its vibration, yet Yu handles it at his pleasure, delivering the sound without distortion. His favorite material, duralumin, is light, solid, and used to make aircraft. The artist uses sound as a medium to express the moment of transition from functional objects to art.
«유국일: 원음 그대로»는 독일 아큐톤(Acuton)과 문도르프(Mundorf)의 명장들로부터 인정받은 소리 마에스터 유국일의 개인전이다. 유국일은 이상적 소리를 만들기 위해서 음악과 금속 조형을 접목하여 메탈 스피커를 디자인했다. 작가는 예민하고 정확한 음질을 위한 스피커 기술 특허 8개, 디자인 특허 32개, 국제 특허 1개를 보유하고 있다. 진동은 무게에 반비례하기 때문에 무거울수록 진동에 의한 소리의 왜곡이 없다. 일반적으로 가공과 진동의 제어가 어려운 금속 소재를 그는 부드럽고 자유자재로 다루며 왜곡 없는 정확한 음을 전달한다. 그가 가장 즐겨 쓰는 두랄루민 금속은 가볍고 단단하여 항공기를 만드는 소재이기도 하다. 작가는 소리를 매개로 기능을 가진 오브제가 아름다운 작품으로 탄생되는 경계의 순간을 표현한다.
