The exhibition introduces Myoung Young Choi’s (b.1941) oeuvre, whose significance ranges from the 1970s to the present. The artist’s approach to the plane as the essential substance of painting is highly refined than the general questioning of what painting is in a contemporary context as it broadens the variation of originality in Korean Dansaekhwa.

최명영 작가(b.1941)의 지난 70년대부터 최근까지의 작품들을 한데 모은 «최명영: 平面條件»에서 그의 지난 40년 동안 줄곧 이어온 작품들을 소개한다. 기존 현대미술이 가진 "회화" 라는 대상의 의문과 탐구가 아닌, 회화가 시작되는 "평면"이란 공간적 실체에 대한 탐구와 접근하는 모습을 통해 한국의 단색화 영역의 또 다른 모습과 개념을 제시한다.
