CONTEMPORARY ART STAGE 1 is a group exhibition presenting the artists at the forefront of the global art world and the masters who left a mark in art history. Especially, IM Heung-Soon examines the issues in modern Korean history through video works and projects. The eleven participating artists are represented by unique cultural, social, religious, and political aspects reflected in their works. In addition, their simultaneous practice in common oscillating between various art boundaries presents the diversity of the contemporary global art stage.

≪CONTEMPORARY ART STAGE 1≫은 국제 미술계의 선두에 선 동시대 작가부터 미술사에 이름을 남긴 거장과, 특히 한국 현대사의 이슈들을 영상과 프로젝트로 조명하는 임흥순 작가의 작품을 한 자리에서 소개하는 전시이다. 11명의 작가들은 그들 작품에 담긴 다른 특유의 문화적, 사회적, 종교적, 정치적 요소들로 대표된다. 더하여 그들이 공통적으로 보여주는 미술 분야의 경계를 넘나드는 동시다발적인 작업은 현 세계 문화예술 무대의 장르적 다채로움을 반영한다.
